The bottle-brush tree is a Christmas staple and usually a slightly cheap-looking one. This is the grown-up version - champagne and gold bristle on an MDF base, 15 inches tall, with a finish that catches lamplight rather than looking like a craft-store offcut.

It works in a row of three down a mantel, or as the soft-textured thing among all the hard iron, porcelain and wood pieces.
