A train is one of those Christmas motifs that usually arrives painted red and green with a great deal of enthusiasm. This one is cast in matte stoneware in a soft sand colour and left alone, so the shape does the work.

Nine inches long with candle wells built in, it runs along a mantel or the middle of a table and looks considered rather than nostalgic. Good for the people who like the traditional motifs but not the traditional palette.
