Patchwork is what happens when one colour just isn't enough. Panels of hand-painted glass come together like a stained-glass quilt, so it catches the sun all day and glows warm once the LEDs kick in.

A string of flickering solar-powered LED lights sits in the burner basket and throws light up through the glass, just like flames lifting a real hot air balloon. The solar panel charges through the day and the light comes on by itself at dusk.

• Replaceable rechargeable battery
